"You cannot open a book without learning something."

I suppose you could call me a bookworm but I decided to purchase three more books the other day.
I have been wanting to read The Fault In Our Stars for a long while now but have never got round to it. I finally bought it and it hardly took any time to read at all. I really enjoyed it and found it deeply moving. I did not, however, cry unlike most people. Don't get me wrong, I found it very upsetting but I am one of those bad people who never cry at books or films (the exceptions being Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and War Horse - still can't bring myself to re-watch it, it's been in my cupboard still in it's wrapper for almost a year and a half...).
I also bought Th Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (AKA J. K. Rowling) and The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I cannot wait to get round to reading them as I have a lot of time to kill over the next few months and what better way can I spend it than doing my favourite past time, reading!

"As I count my blessings, I can’t help but think of you"

The other week it was my mum's birthday and I was desperately lacking in present inspiration, that was until I paid a visit to my favourite shop - The Body Shop. I have to admit that I do not know why this was not my first port of call as I love it so but alas it took me a while to finally get there. As I was pretty skint at the time I had to limit myself to what the amount I could actually spend which was slightly stressing me out slightly. I then found this beauty being displayed on one of the shelves. The package contained two tubes of almond hand and nail cream (one being larger than the other) and some almond nail and cuticle oil. The package was priced at £16 which in my opinion was pretty decent. It was very successful with my mum as she loved it, so if you have any up and coming birthdays and are stuck for inspiration then I recommended hitting The Body Shop, they have some pretty fantastic gift ideas!

“I like good strong words that mean something…”

Next month is one of my closest friend's 18th birthday. I have known her since the first few days of starting high school all the way back in 2007 so I wanted to make it special. She loves Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit - a feeling I never have, and never will, understand - so I decided to buy her one of the Moleskine's limited edition, The Hobbit journals. It is a handy pocket size which should hopefully come in handy for when she starts uni in September. I think these journals are really sweet and I am very tempted to buy myself one albeit not a Hobbit themed one!
She has also been saying for a long while now how she wishes for a "nice" copy of the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I had a look around and it did not take me long at all to find a this really pretty, hardback copy. It is by the publishers Barnes and Noble who just so happened to produce my copy of Dracula. I really like the idea behind their range of new covers for many classic novels as I think many of them make the books appear as they may have done when they were originally published.
As a little extra I also decided to buy a couple of postcards from the Literary Emporium store on Not On The High Street. The gift would have been enough without these yet when I saw them I immediately thought of my friend as she loves books so much.
I have just over a month before I can give them to her but I don't think I can wait that long! I just hope she loves them as much as I loved buying them!

I've Finished My A-Levels!!

Today was the day of my last exam and boy does it feel good to be free! I finished sixth form on 22nd May but I have still been going in almost everyday as an attempt to motivate myself to revise. It seemed to do the job as I found most of my exams alright, there were a couple which I massively messed up on and I'm hoping they won't affect my final grade too much as I desperately need ABB to get into my university of choice but in the words of Doris Day "que sera sera". I now have the long wait until the dreaded results day on 14th August but I have plenty planned to keep my mind off the stresses it shall bring! As for now, I feel at a huge loss of what to do with myself as I keep thinking I need to be revising and there is just a massive hole where my revision used to be. I am not complaining though! I will sixth form dearly as I have loved the past two years I have spent there and I have meet some truly amazing people but it is safe to say A-Levels will not missed one bit!
