A Trip to the Toon

A few weeks ago I went on a trip to Newcastle to go and see a couple of friends who are living there whilst they are at university. It was so good to see them even though it hadn't been long since they had left home. It's funny how much you miss people when you go from seeing them every single day at sixth form to hardly seeing them at all.
I was surprised by Newcastle if I am honest. I'd never been before and I held this view of it, shamefully taken from the crime drama Vera and other TV programmes, that it was a horribly dull place with nothing to do apart from party. Oh, how wrong was I. It's so vibrant and there is so much to do. My friends took my to the Baltic, the markets (which I can tell you are pretty fab. Not like the ones back home), the city centre of course and their uni, which I like so much I've even applied there myself!
My friend took pretty much all these photos for me so all credit goes to her!

The Wanted | Word of Mouth Tour 2014

I was looking through some photos when I stumbled across these which I took whilst at The Wanted's Word of Mouth Tour back in March. This is the first time I've had a proper look at the photos since I took them (shameful, I know) but some of them surprise me at how good they actually are! I used my really old camera which does redeem itself by having a fab zoom. Me and my friend were lucky enough to be sat on the floor about four rows from the front (the photos make it look further but I promise you it's true) of stage that came out in the centre of the room. The boys were supported buy Elyar Fox and The Vamps who were so good live and put on a great show and did a fabulous job of warming up the crowd (not that we needed it!) It was an amazing experience. Best concert I have been to by far. Check out the photos below! Brace yourself, there's quite a lot.

It was a truly fantastic night and the things I would do to relive it...!

I Must Be Insane...

I know recently I wrote a post about getting my place at university but after a very long think, I came to the very hard decision of attempting to resit a few of my exams and reapplying for next year. I may sound insane but when it came down to the process of applying for accommodation I was told that they were unable to offer me any and I had to find somewhere that was privately owned. After two long days of consecutively ringing around places, all I kept getting was voicemail or the response that the rooms had been fully booked up. The thought that I was unhappy with my results has been continuously bugging me since results day and I personally think this is the best decision I can make at the moment in order for me to be happy and not be constantly thinking "what if...?" for the foreseeable future. As I said, I must be insane voluntarily putting myself through the stresses of A Levels again when I had secured a university place when many did not, but what's the point in going to uni and having nowhere to live and with it being so far away from my home it would be impossible to commute.

I Got Into University!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

So last Thursday was results day and I have to admit I had never been more stressed out about anything in my entire life. Everything I had previously worked so hard for all amounted up to this day. I was either going to get into university or I wasn't. The walk up to sixth form felt like I was walking to my death and seemed to take much longer than normal. Once I had arrived I went to pick up that dreaded envelope and found a quiet spot to open it. I am not going to lie to you and say I had done better or as well as I had hoped as this was not the case but all that matters is that I had got in!  I had secured myself a place at university! I couldn't quite believe it! (I still can't) I feel so blessed as I know many people who have not managed to get in or have ended up doing something they really did not expect to (like an unexpected gap year). As of September I will officially be a Criminology student and I cannot wait! Bring on Freshers' Week!
